The Pearl Project + Noonday Collection share this passion:
Offering women the opportunity to Redeem Their Life’s Story.
Noonday is a socially responsible company that uses fashion in order to create sustainable and dignified work for women all over the world. Noonday comes alongside these women in tangible ways in order to empower them with the opportunity to make a fair and living wage that is otherwise difficult to come by in their regions. Noonday is helping these women to redeem their stories.
The Pearl Project is on a mission for women to flourish and to live out their God-given calling in their everyday lives. We have partnered with Noonday Collection who shares this very same mission. Noonday is a socially responsible business that uses fashion, particularly jewelry and home goods, to create opportunity for women in vulnerable regions of the world.
It is one of our goals that our longterm partnership with Noonday would be the ability to take teams of women to travel to these same countries where the artisan businesses are located, and offer Spiritual mentorship and discipleship opportunities to these artisan women (and others) in order to compliment Noonday’s preexisting vocational opportunities for these women. This is all part of the redemptive vision that The Pearl Project and Noonday Collection happen to share.
Noonday partners with Artisan Businesses in 13 countries around the world to offer them a marketplace in the United States for their businesses to flourish; a market that they would otherwise not have because of the lack of resources and disposable income in their regions. Through these American marketplaces (Online Shopping + Trunk Shows), opportunity for dignified work is available to women through these Artisan Businesses because they are able to employ more and more women who are escaping sex slavery, warfare, and extreme poverty in exchange for a fair and living wage.
In areas like Rwanda for example where the genocide of the 90’s is still taking its toll systemically, some women are forced to give their children up for adoption because they cannot afford to feed them and care for them any longer. Many of their men died in the warfare, and so they are left with little option for survival, let alone options for dignified work as women. Noonday has been incredibly dynamic in their assistance of these Artisan business in order to offer dignified work to women so that they are able to keep their children, and care for their families.
Noonday offers free childcare so that women genuinely have a chance to get ahead. They offer no-interest loans to the businesses themselves when major supplies are needed, and also offers business expertise and leadership to the artisan business owners to help these business advance and grow to a sustainable level for the benefit of the entire community.
Noonday is a certified B Corp which means that they have the literal highest standards for business practices, legal accountability, verified public transparency, and social and environmental performance standards. Noonday is thus representative of a business that aspires to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems.
Businesses like Noonday are leaders in a growing global movement of people using business as a force for good. The Pearl Project shares every ounce of the passion and the vision of Noonday, and there will be ample collaboration of these two projects.
“Together we create a flourishing world where people have jobs, women are empowered, children are cherished, and we are connected.”
